Michelle Harvey-Fogg Therapeutic Counselling in person & online

Sometimes life takes us to places we are not expecting and can leave us feeling lost, confused and alone. It can be hard to reach out and to ask for support.

I believe healing happens in spaces where we feel safe, seen and heard. My goal is to create that space for you. Where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. Where your story and lived experience is honoured with care and compassion.

When you are ready, I am here to walk alongside you.

"Come as you are, we'll start there"

Inclusive Counselling

I specialise in working with individuals navigating trauma, domestic abuse, neurodivergence, (ND) (diagnosed or self-identified), identity exploration and parenting ND young people: I have lived experience of this. My work with ND clients includes those with ADHD, Autism, sensory sensitivities, burnout and masking. I am happy to make adjustments, so that you are comfortable and will offer a flexible approach that respects your process.

I am passionate about offering an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ clients where all identities are welcomed. Whether you are exploring gender, sexuality or seeking support in a world that hasn’t always felt safe, I will meet you with compassion, validation and care.

Trauma-Informed Care and Therapy and Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT)

I am a Trauma Informed Practitioner, (TIP) which means that I will be working in a safe way to help you with any trauma experiences that you may have had.

I am also trained in Rewind Trauma Therapy, (IARTT). This is an approach that can help people process and heal from traumatic memories without re-traumatisation. It can be used for single event traumas, complex traumas (multiple events), PTSD, anxiety and phobias.

Supporting Survivors of Abuse

Are you in the midst of a controlling relationship, or reclaiming your identity after long periods of survival?

If you are, then these experiences can often leave you feeling confused, isolated, alone or doubting yourself. It can leave you feeling embarrassed or ashamed to reach out for help.

Maybe you want to find some coping strategies, build some self-care for yourself, set boundaries or just talk in a place where you are understood, seen and heard.

I can offer you a safe, compassionate space without judgement where we can explore the impact this has had or is having on you. When you are ready, I am here to support you.

My Integrative Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring our work to fit your individual needs. I often work creatively, as I have found that it brings new insights and helps gain different perspectives

If you are open to working creatively, we may introduce resources such as pens, paper, sand tray work, playdough or therapeutic cards. There is no need to be creative or arty to do this.

My aim is to create a therapeutic space where you feel empowered to grow, feel and be your most authentic self.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from counselling?

Counselling is a place where you can share whatever you feel comfortable, without judgement. It is a confidential space but there are a few limits, which I will discuss with you.

I won't be giving you answers or telling you what to do but I will listen to you, ask questions, and offer observations where appropriate.

How many sessions will I need?

It is difficult to say exactly how many sessions you will need as everyone's situation is unique.

Some people need short term work and others may need longer term. I will check in with you from time to time to see how you feel sessions are going and we can adapt accordingly.

What will I be expected to talk about?

In counselling, you are only ever encouraged to talk about what feels right for you.

I understand that it can take a lot of courage to come to counselling and talk about difficult and painful things. It's important that you feel comfortable, so there is no rush; we go at your pace and you will be in control of what you feel able to share.

Our bodies are very clever at knowing what we are able to deal with, so it is important that we listen and respect it.
